EASY Cherry Cobbler

This is the first dessert my mom ever taught me how to make at the age of 6. It is also the first dessert I taught my own daughter to make. That is just statement to how easy it really is! It is also still one of my favorite desserts and I always have the ingredients handy in my pantry. This recipe only calls for 4 ingredients! Whether you are serving your family or guests, this is one you will be asked to make again.

ingredients

Pick your pie filling

First you will need cherry pie filling. If you are not a fan of cherry, try apple, peach or blueberry! I have used them all and they are all delicious! Dump the pie filling into your baking dish and spread out evenly over your pan. Make sure to use a rubber spatula and get it all out of the can.

Add your yellow cake mix

Next comes the yellow cake mix. I prefer to use the jiffy cake mix because it is the perfect size! If you can’t find the Jiffy brand, any cake mix will do. When using a normal cake mix box you will only need about half the box! Save the other half to make a new cobbler next week. Make sure you get an even layer of the dry cake mix over the filling!

Old fashion oats

Now the next step of this recipe is my own touch from the original recipe my mom had taught me! Although it is great without the old fashion oats, I think it adds a great texture element to the dish. So if you have it on hand, add 1/4 cup of old fashion oats evenly over the cake mix!

Pour on the butter

Finally its time to pour the melted stick of butter over the dish. I have never met a dish with butter that I don’t like! I prefer salted butter because everything tastes a little better with salt, including desserts! Melt the butter in the microwave and drizzle over the dish evenly. Pop that cobbler in the oven and bake for 35-45 minutes at 375 degrees. Every oven cooks a little different so I recommend checking the dish every five minutes after 35 minutes.

Serve and Enjoy!

Can you believe that is it!? Honestly I hate to even admit how easy this dessert is and your guests will think you were in the kitchen baking for hours to serve this masterpiece! The flavors are a perfect mix of sweet and salty! The warm, gooey filling topped with a crunchy topping for the perfect bite. You can serve the cobbler with vanilla ice-cream or cool whip topping! ENJOY! For more easy and delicious desserts check out my sweet treats!
